About Us

Safer Cliffs Australia is a non-profit voluntary group of climbers who advocate to maintain the safety of rock climbing areas in Australia.

Fixed protection on climbing routes is subject to degradation over time and requires maintenance to ensure ongoing safety. This work is undertaken not by a central body, but by local crag custodians at the grass-roots level in each state.

Each state-based Safer Cliffs group conducts fundraising activities to ensure the costs of these maintenance activities can be shared by the wider climbing community.

The Safer Cliffs initiative relies entirely on donations of gear, time, equipment and money to continue work. If you have anything to donate please contact your relevant State.
